MEDICAL ECONOMICS: Don't Let Recovery Audit Contractors Push You Around
The Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC) can be daunting and will try to intimidate you if you let them. Connolly Consulting is the RAC which was awarded the CMS contract for our area. These "bounty hunters" are paid using a contingency fee payment methodology, which of course gives them incentive to recover as much as they can. Slower Economy Being Felt in Orthopedics
Several years ago, when Memphis Tomorrow hired Battelle Memorial Institute to study how the Bluff City could best compete nationally in the bioscience industry, the company returned with well-defined strategies: hone Memphis' bioscience vision, market the city as a biomedical center, and grow specific medical sectors. Outsourcing HR Enables Focus on Practice Challenges
A few years ago, the term outsourcing generated considerable public discourse when many domestic call center jobs moved to India and other global sites with low labor costs. The reality of outsourcing today is much more mundane, as many businesses outsource a variety of business functions with great success. Peter Lawrence, MD
Union City was home to Peter Lawrence, MD, all of his life, and being close to family has always been important to him. But when he fell in love with a Bluegrass girl, he followed her to Kentucky for medical school. The call of home and some great opportunities to hunt and fish, however, led him back to West Tennessee and close to family to settle down.
